Bilingualizing Poetry: Writing in Two Languages

  • Portage-Cragin Branch, Chicago Public Library 5108 West Belmont Avenue Chicago, IL, 60641 United States (map)

Join Angelica for a bilingual writing workshop as part of Chicago Public Library’s Poetry Month Celebration. Registration coming soon.

Workshop Description: How do we meld two languages that are a part of us into our writing? Do we need to know both languages perfectly to write bilingual poetry? The answer is no. Bilingualism manifests itself in various ways in one’s life, and this workshop will tap into how to use it within poetry. Exploring how bilingualism can show up in our writing is a fun process of deconstructing the limits of language, forming a relationship between two languages, and creating bilingual poetry that is aligned with who we are as writers.
